Witness, if you will, a candidate. A name on a ballot. A Republican — at least, so the lawn signs would have you believe. But the records — public, indelible, unkind — tell another story. Twice, she signed for a Democratic ballot. Her career was spent defending the accused. What follows is the file.
Press play— The Case File —
Every claim below is drawn from the public record — voter files, IRS filings, campaign-finance disclosures, and reporting. The sources are listed at the bottom.
She wants to run the office that prosecutes Yakima County's criminals. For more than a decade, her work has been on the other side of the courtroom.
Since 2013, Quinn Dalan has worked as a criminal defense attorney — representing the accused, not the county.

Public record · Yakima HeraldThe prosecutor's job is holding Yakima County's criminals accountable. Her recent career has been on the side of the defendant — and her campaign is funded by a bail bondsman who profits when they walk free.
Washington doesn't register voters by party. But to vote in a presidential primary, you sign a party declaration. Quinn Dalan signed the Democratic one. Twice.
June 2024: she appeared on stage and publicly honored Governor Jay Inslee at a Washington State Women's Commission event in Yakima.

Public event recordsShe asks Republican voters to nominate her for prosecutor. Her own ballots tell a different story.
Who funds the "Republican" in this race? The public campaign-finance record answers the question.
James Boyer — a Democrat mega-donor
James Boyer, a personal-injury attorney at Yakima's Abeyta Nelson, gave Quinn Dalan the maximum allowed contribution. His own donations have gone to former Governor Jay Inslee, current Governor Bob Ferguson, and Democratic legislative candidates — and now to the "Republican" running for prosecutor.
WA Public Disclosure CommissionA bail bondsman
A Sunnyside bail-bond agent contributed $1,000 — an industry that profits when defendants are released on bail rather than held.
WA Public Disclosure CommissionAn immigration-defense attorney
A Yakima immigration-defense attorney contributed $1,000 — the same practice area as Quinn's own former firm. (Name withheld pending confirmation.)
WA Public Disclosure CommissionOut-of-area money
More than $2,000 of Quinn's funding comes from outside Yakima County — including donors in Seattle and Gig Harbor.
WA Public Disclosure CommissionA bail bondsman. A Democrat mega-donor. An immigration-defense attorney. Seattle money. Follow it, and ask the only question that matters: who would Quinn Dalan really answer to?
This is the county Quinn Dalan is asking to stop prosecuting.
Sinaloa and CJNG cartels operate in the valley, and crime costs the county an estimated $107.6 million a year. This is not the moment to hand the prosecutor's office to a defense attorney funded by a bail bondsman.
